It’s well worth a visit to see how our modular buildings are manufactured in York, because it’s only when you take a guided factory tour that you can really see how it’s possible to deliver even the largest building projects on time and on budget.

There’s nothing hidden, so you can see for yourself the processes and quality control that enables us to give you the exceptional buildings that you want.

The size and scale of the site has to be seen to be appreciated. It’s a 250,000 m2 modern, clean and organised factory site dedicated to producing high-quality modular buildings. If you have experience of building projects you’ll be able to see how much tidier, well ordered, planned and organised this site is than a conventional construction site.

You’ll see the huge assembly halls in operation where work can continue all year round no matter what the weather, which is vital if you’re planning a project that you don’t want halted by adverse conditions.

You’ll also be able to see how recycling and waste management is an integral part of the work as well as the highly efficient ordering, storage, movement and use of materials.

On a typical tour, which takes just over an hour you’ll begin by seeing our own working examples of completed offices, featuring large open spans unhindered by columns.

You’ll then be taken to walk safely alongside the ISO audited manufacturing process from the production of the components to the assembly of the units.
You’ll see real buildings being made, not a demonstration and you’ll witness the efficient lean manufacturing process in action.

At the end of the tour you can see how the buildings are expertly fitted out from first fix electrics, cabling and plumbing through to up to 97% of the fit out prior to being transported across the UK.
