The Requirement

The Highways Agency required a new, purpose-designed office building at West Cowick in East Yorkshire to replace an existing facility, which had reached the end of its serviceable life. 

CarillionWSP, who are responsible for the management, maintenance and improvement of motorways and trunk roads throughout Yorkshire, Humberside and into Derbyshire, would occupy the scheme.

The Solution

Yorkon provided the two-storey replacement office building less than four months after starting on site – completing the project on time and on budget.

The offices are in 24-hour use by around 40 staff.  Facilities include individual offices, reception, meeting and training rooms, kitchen and drinks preparation areas and a platform lift. 

Yorkon manufactured the building off-site as 14 steel-framed modules, which were craned into position in just a few days ready for fitting out.
