However you choose to develop your project, dialogue is all-important. We will spend time understanding your needs and set up design workshops with your project team, stakeholders and end users to find the optimum design.

Defining your design early in the process

As your building is to be built in a factory environment, it is essential to agree your design prior to the start of the production phase. This will ensure that materials are planned and procured in good time.

We will work closely with you, your client, stakeholders, project and design teams, to work towards a design freeze. This means that, to help eliminate doubt, we sign-off a design that all parties are entirely satisfied with before production of your building begins. This also helps to create a tighter programme so you can enjoy a smooth building process and a project completed on time, on budget and to specification.

Changes may be applied after a design freeze. However, this may affect deadlines, programme times and the project cost.

• Whole life costing – Yorkon has developed a modular industry first with the development of a software package to assess whole life costs. This allows you to evaluate the implications of specification decisions on energy consumption and running costs.
