The Portakabin Group completes 200th restaurant for McDonald’s...
...delivering proven time, cost and quality benefits
McDonald’s wanted to create a new 85-seater drive-thru restaurant opposite Leeds United Football Club at Elland Road. This would create around 60 local full and part-time jobs.
The Elland Road restaurant was the 200th construction project completed for McDonald’s by the Portakabin Group.
Constructed off-site in a quality-controlled factory environment, the restaurant was craned onto prepared foundations in just a few hours. It was delivered complete with all catering equipment, signage, glazing, heating, plumbing, ventilation, ceramic finishes, joinery and internal walls pre-installed. Less than two weeks later, the restaurant was open for business.
“McDonald's began a partnership with the Portakabin Group over eight years ago and have worked together over the years to ensure that McDonald’s restaurants are manufactured at an economic cost. The Portakabin Group has improved quality, reduced build times and always meet our standards.”
John Atherton, McDonald’s Regional Vice President
Because of its location, the restaurant has a footballing design theme, displaying a variety of memorabilia from the early days of Leeds United through to the present.
Over the past eight years, McDonald’s restaurants have developed to include children’s play areas, larger seating areas, new interior design schemes and Aroma coffee bars.
