New Modular Restaurants, Pizza Hut

"Yorkon provided us with the best proposal in terms of cost effectiveness, quality, projected programme and professionalism.  Construction of the first restaurant went very well, halving the programme time despite difficult site conditions and with no compromise on quality."

The Requirement

Pizza Hut, the UK's leading pizza brand, had a need to reduce the time taken on site for new building projects, to allow the earlier opening of new restaurants, to the benefit of its customers. With over 500 outlets and an expanding franchise operation, Pizza Hut UK employs over 20,000 people and is a division of Yum! Brands Inc – the world's largest restaurant group.

The Solution

Pizza Hut approached Yorkon for the construction of a number of new restaurants that could be manufactured off-site.

New modular restaurant, ColchesterThe £1 million contract followed the completion of Pizza Hut's first off-site restaurant in the UK. The 131-cover restaurant in Colchester was successfully completed by Yorkon in half the time of a typical traditionally-built restaurant.

Yorkon completed five new restaurants in Walsall, Loughborough, Peterborough, Portsmouth and Romford.

The restaurants were manufactured at the 60-acre production centre in York, which enabled Pizza Hut to open new freestanding outlets quickly.
